In West Bengal winter is time to Enjoy. Though December and January are the really cold months, November have pleasant Weather. Except in Darjeeling, Where it snow every one or two years, In the plains the drop in temperature in the winter bring reliefs from the heat and sweat all over West Bengal. Fruits like oranges, apple, pomegranates, and vegetables like cauliflower and peas are typically products of this season. Winter in West Bengal is specially suited for outdoor games. Apart from Cricket (which, however is  played all round the year now a days), Badminton is a specific winter game. All popular picnic spot are booked well in advance as men, women and children enjoy a days outing away from their routine life. The Zoological Gardens at Alipore is also a much visited spot in winter. All kinds of fare and exhibitions area held in season - The Handloom exhibition, Lexpo, Expo, Industrial Trade Fair and The Calcutta Book Fair all occupy important place in the cultural and commercial life of the people of Bengal. In West Bengal belonging to various communities celebrate Christmas by exchanging cakes and gifts. The Saraswati Puja brings an end to the pleasant winter, and people prepare themselves once more for the hot and humid summer ahead.
