A family Get-together

I still remember the day. It was 5th of may, 2008. That was my fifth birthday. My parents decided to celebrate it rather gorgeously. So invitation letters were printed and there were sent all our relations far and near. I am the only son of my parents, though i have little sister two years younger than me. She was as jubilant as myself was. My uncle and aunt who lived in Delhi came a day earlier with their two children. Another aunt of mine who lived in Barasat also came to our house. One of my cousins who worked in Durgapur also came with his newly married wife. On the day of the celebration our house was bustling with activity. Some went to market to buy things for the dinner. Other engaged themselves in decorating the house. Some of my friend enjoyed themselves by playing hide and seek. In the evening, I put on the special dress which my father has given me for the occasion. I recited a few poems which i had learnt at school. My new sister-in-law sang a beautiful song. My cousin played the mouth organ. Then we sat together for the dinner. It was a sumptuous feast. The celebration was a pleasant experience for me. I felt proud to think that i was the centre of all this festivity.
